Steel Window Fittings wins at the Steel Window Association awards
The 7th June saw the Steel Window Fittings team travel to the beautiful London County Hall for the Steel Window Association’s 57th AGM. It was a great opportunity to learn of the changes and advancements within the steel window industry, while meeting with other members face to face.
This year was the inaugural Steel Window Association Awards. It was great to see member’s projects receive recognition from an independent judging panel. All entries were exceptional, and displayed a high standard of craftmanship that is synonymous with steel windows.
Residential
Govettes won the residential award with an impressive home located in Weybridge, Surrey. The beautiful steel W20 windows and doors were manufactured in a custom RAL finish of pearl beige to complement the sand brickwork.
The homeowner wanted a seamless appearance and opted to match our B870ROSE door handles and B851ROSE escutcheons to the frames in the identical RAL pearl beige finish.
Commercial
For a historic property first built in 1902, West Leigh were presented with the commercial award for the historically rich Voysey House. Originally serving as a wallpaper factory, Voysey House was refurbished in the 1980’s, which removed the original small paned windows and replaced them with large panes.
West Leigh assisted in returning the property to its original glory, with smaller framed steel windows that mimicked the original cast iron and improved the U value.
The B99S Folding openers were selected as the ideal fitting due to the windows being top hung and their ability to restrict the opening to 4”.
To match the black frames, the folding openers were also produced in our antique black finish.
Finally…
Attending the AGM is always a highlight of the year for us and for our hardware to be recognised with the associated award for both the residential and commercial properties is a great achievement.
We look forward to seeing everyone again next year for the AGM and another Steel Window Association Awards!
